Q.
- 1. What is the difference between Intense
Pulsed Light and Laser treatments?
Ans. - Laser is a coherent
single beam of light, whereas IPL is incoherent
and delivers a wider spectrum of wavelengths.
Larger areas of the skin can also normally
be targeted with IPL than with laser
Q.
- 2. Why choose IPL and not other hair reduction
methods?
Ans. - IPL treatments are
non-invasive and gentler on the skin.
- Treatment areas are larger, therefore
treatment time is shorter.
- Ingrown hairs will not form, in fact,
IPL treatments prevent their formation.
- Shaving is only a short-term fix.
- Waxing can be very painful, and can cause
inflammation and ingrown hairs
- Electrolysis is very painful, with treatments
restricted to single hair follicles.
- Chemical depilation is slow and messy.
- Lasers are more painful, have the potential
to cause more damage to the skin and significant
down time.
Q.
- 3. Can red and blonde hair be treated successfully?
Ans. - These hair types are
generally not recommended for IPL treatments
as there is generally not enough pigment in
the hair to treat the follicles. The results
cannot be guaranteed.
